This program takes used tennis balls and sends them to a special recycling plant that can handle the special material makeup of tennis balls.
How: We partner with RecyleBalls.org that sends us the boxes we fill and send to the recycling. We also partner with New Canaan Raquet Club (NCRC), The Field Club of New Canaan, and Woodway Country Club to take the used balls from these clubs.
Hi, my name is Luke Riley, and I live in New Canaan, CT. This town has a high number of tennis players and clubs, including me. I am passionate about tennis as I play for my school, St. Luke’s, varsity tennis team, and have played the sport since I was 6.
~125 million tennis balls are discarded annually.
Why: Tennis balls are detrimental to the environment as they are largely non-biodegradable.
Takes an average of 400 years for a single ball to decompose
